Komar grinders and shredders

Company

Komar Founder and President Larry Koenig began his career in the waste industry in 1969 as a national sales manager for Burford Manufacturing. In 1971, he started his own waste equipment distributing business. In 1977, a large industrial company presented its waste problem to Larry and asked for a solution. After searching the market for a solution and finding none that were acceptable, Larry designed an auger system for the company with a no-risk guarantee. The company loved it and has since purchased three more.

From this, Komar Industries, Inc. was incorporated in Iowa in 1978. The company name came from the first two letters of "Koenig" and the first three letters of Larry's son Mark's name. In 1981, Komar moved to Central Ohio and currently holds over 100 U.S. and international patents. Current company highlights:

  • International sales and service
  • State-of-the-art design/engineering/manufacturing services and facilities in 45,000-square-foot facility
  • Hundreds of installations
